The people behind the pipelines. We combine expertise in computational biology, statistics, and software engineering.
The people behind the pipelines — combining expertise in computational biology, genomics, data management, and infrastructure.
Leads the Bioinformatics Unit at IMBB-FORTH. Previously at Deus ex Machina, Biovista, and Protein Pathways, Inc. His background spans omics data analysis, biomedical data integration using ontological frameworks and FAIR principles, and drug repurposing.
Research interests include gene expression and regulation from high-throughput sequencing data, genome assembly and annotation with a focus on insects and human pathogens, and the development of bioinformatics tools using ontologies and semantic approaches.
Member of the Bioinformatics Unit at IMBB-FORTH, contributing to the unit's computational support services for research groups.
Responsible for data management and analysis within the Bioinformatics Unit, supporting research groups with computational data workflows.
The Bioinformatics Unit is a core facility of the Institute of Molecular Biology and Biotechnology (IMBB) at the Foundation for Research and Technology - Hellas (FORTH) in Heraklion, Crete. We provide computational analysis services and training to all IMBB research groups and affiliated University of Crete laboratories.
To enable biology labs to extract maximum biological insight from high-throughput data through expert computational analysis, accessible self-service tools, and education. We believe every biologist should be empowered to understand and interact with their data.
